Microfluidics

Our first work on Microfluidics (with Dr. Rati's group from the Chemistry department) got published in the BioMicrofluidics Journal. Here we successfully demonstrated a cost-effective microfabrication technique for making microfluidic chambers (with 8 micron openings) without using costly lithography processes. We successfully trapped worms (Caenorhabditis elegans) having diameters of about 50 microns inside this chamber. In addition, our chamber can separate out the eggs and newly born progenies from the fully grown worms.

Proton Conductivity

Our recent work (in collaboration with Prof. Aasheesh Srivastava and Dr. Amit Paul from the Chemistry department) on designing organic molecules (by mimicking nature) with high proton conductivity got featured on the cover page of Chem. Eur. J. and also got reported in India Science Wire news. This research will be useful for the efficient conversion of electrochemical energy in Fuel cells for EVs and other battery-based applications.

Saleem won best poster prize in the EECS Research Symposium 2023

Anirban won best poster prize in the EECS Research Symposium 2023

PawaMaan - Abhishek, Parth, Soham, and Mohit (EECS and DSE BS students) developed an air quality monitoring device and mobile application called PawaMaan as a low-cost portable sloution for real time monitoring of air quality. Our device won the 2nd position in the 'Environmental Sensing Project Competition' hosted by the University of Helsinki, Finland.

Abhishek (3rd from right) and Anirban (2nd from right) won best poster prize on the occasion of Engineer's day.

Santanu received the 'Distinguished Teacher Award' from IISER Bhopal for getting the highest score (based on student evaluation) for the Basic Electronics course.
