State Premier League vs Waterford Warriors

Unhappy Draw! After a dominating performance over the Warriors from Waterford, the San Marino U13 boys ended this past weekends first game in the state premier league game frustrated with a draw. The Warriors score their one and only shot on goal on a questionable offside run. San Marino faught back to the very end, creating many chances that just did not find there way to the back of the old onion bag.  Striker #13 Josh, leveled the score with an bending free kick from 18 yards out to beat the Warriors keeper. In what should have been a blowout, ended in a 1-1 draw with San Marino hungry to face Vardar Red this up and coming Wednesday 04.22.09.

State Premier League: Sept. 26, 27, 28

WIN, LOSE, and DRAW...Mixed results after a long weekend for San Marino. Kicking off the first of three games Friday night against RSC Lightening, San Marino showed up ready to take apart the opposition. The first two goals came late in the first half, when attacking midfielder Josh opened the scoring in the 27th min. Following Josh's lead, shortly thereafter at the 31st min, outside left midfielder Trever put another shot in the back of the net. Seven minutes into the second half, Nick picked up the third goal for San Marino.  Now with the flood gate fully open, Trever intercepting a pass in the 19th minute, made a beautiful cross into the box where our stiker Oscar knocked it home. The 5th and final goal was due to the extremely hard work of Patch, digging out the ball from the RSC Lighting's back field, passing it across the goal mouth where Trever was waiting to rip it home for his second goal of the night. Final Score: San Marino 5 - RSC Lightening 0.

Coming out a bit flat footed, San Marino fell behind early to the West Bloomfield Force on Saturday morning. Battling back for the rest of the match, the boys had some great scoring opportunities without being able to finish.  Finally, the equalizer came from a free kick, just outside the 18, where it was blasted off the foot of Josh sailing past the Force's Keeper. Final Score: San Marino 1 - WB Force 1.

The Final game of the weekend, San Marino faced the Metrostars.

Final Score: San Marino 1 - Metrostars 2.

State Premier League: Saturday 9/20/08

VICTORY!!! A successful first game in the state premier league this past weekend for the U13 boys team.  Kicking-off the season with a 3-0 win over the Troy Soccer Club's Blaze. The first of the three goals came off the big foot of our starting sweeper, Evan, who blasted the ball into the back of the net from a free kick around 35 yards out. Shortly thereatfer came the second goal. Using his left foot like a natural, Marco beat the Blaze's keeper from just outside the eighteen. Finishing strong to put the final nail in the coffin, outside midfielder Trever, from around 20 yards out fired a beautiful right footer into the back of the net. This victory was truly a team effort with one of our strikers, Cody, having a strong game to help lead the way to victory.

Great Job SAN MARINO!!!

 11th Annual
St. Clair Shores Waterfront Invitational

San Marino U-13 Boys premier soccer team lived up to the hype during the 11th Annual St. Clair Shores Waterfront Invitational. Starting the tournament with a bang, San Marino defeated the Tecumseh Warriors from Ontario, Canada (3-0). Saturday morning brought upon a (0-0) draw in game 2, with San Marino unable to finish their many chances facing the St. Clair Shores Stampede. Later that afternoon,  a now fired up San Marino faced the Fraser Crew and cruised to a (3-0) victory, opening the door to a definite spot in Sunday's final.

In the final match, San Marino kicked off a nail-biter against the Metrostars. San Marino played a well fought battle creating many chances without catching the back of the net. Finally, in extra time the Metrostars slipped a ball past the tough San Marino defense, who have yet to be scored on in regulation, for the win.

Congratulations to the U-13 Boys San Marino State Premier Soccer Team for their hard work and 2nd place finish in the 11th Annual St. Clair Shores Waterfront Invitational!!!
