 Picture Australia is a service hosted by the National Library of Australia to provide a comprehensive pictorial record of Australian history. This free website contains a great many images of Australia and the commonwealth throughout our history.
 Once you find an image that is suitable for your task you can:
* view information about the image.
* see or print a larger version.
* request a copy to include in a publcation
* save it in your favourites and email it to yourself or others.

Slideshow Trails

Together the Le@rning Federation (TLF) and Picture Australia have created a suite of slideshow picture trails to build resources for the national curriculum. To find out more about the meaning of images in the trails, see their accompanying education value statement.

Oxfam Education

This vibrant visual literacy resource includes detailed background information, guidance on using images, and lesson plans about using captions, storyboarding, and cropping images. The resource lets you explore how children view images differently at different ages, and lets you develop key literacy, numeracy and communications skills.
