What is it?
Why "Stud Run"? This is a new and completely unique way to get fresh air, have fun with your Anchorage community, burn some extra calories before Super Bowl Sunday, and - best of all - support the students of Sand Lake Elementary!
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11
Run, walk, or roll into February with Anchorage’s second annual lake-based winter wellness fun run! This unique, untimed fun run/walk will follow an approximately 1.75 mile course around frozen Sand Lake, beginning and ending near the dock behind Sand Lake Elementary. Last year, nearly 300 runners, walkers, stroller passengers and one really big puffin made our first year a great success.
This family-friendly event will feature warming tents with hot cocoa, coffee and snacks waiting for you at the finish line along with a finishers medal for children 13 and under. Whether you are an experienced winter runner or this will be your first experiment with frozen lake recreation, come out and join us!
Be a part of the start of something big and help us grow a new Anchorage winter tradition with the first annual Stud Run on Saturday, February 11 ON frozen Sand Lake!
WHEN: Saturday, Febuary 11, 10am start time. Same-day bib pickup and late registration will begin at 9am.
QUESTIONS? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please remember, all organizers are volunteers with families and jobs, so give us a day or two to get back to you.
Why we need your support
This event is the major fundraiser for Sand Lake Elementary PTSA. The money raised here will be used to send our students on field trips, purchase library books, have a science fair and spelling bee, fund scholarships for students and provide classrooms with needed supplies and support.Field trips are a major enrichment opportunity for the next generation - for many of our students, these trips may be the first time they visit a museum or theatrical performance, or learn about the natural world around them. Your support helps us provide so much to our students. THANK YOU!
