Freedom Tower










Architect David Chaylds presented a new draft "Freedom Tower", to be erected at the site destroyed the World Trade Center. According to the draft height of the building is 1776 feet, which corresponds to the year in which the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the United States. In the metric system of measuring the height of the tower reaches 541 meters. "Freedom Tower" will be built of solid glass especially durable, without external concrete or steel seams. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2012. The initial project calls for the construction of the building is the same height. However, experts on terrorism and the leadership of the police department of New York insisted on its revision and demanded to develop constructive elements, not to damage the building as a result of the terrorist attack. The new building should symbolize the rebirth of New York after September 11, 2001.
