Rachel Manko, SLUG Board
Welcome to SLUG’s second virtual meeting. The meeting will be recorded and put on youtube so if anyone who could not attend today will be able to watch what they missed here.
Presentations
Corey Mecham – Rapid Response Systems
Corey presented on using remote sensing and UAVs can be used for environmental site assessment and remediation. The use of UAVs provide cost effective methods for data collection because of how simple they are to deploy more frequently. This allows for the collection of data that changes over time to be easily collected and shown to others who can’t be on site to see the changes. Drones do more than just capture aerial images they also provide photogrammetry, lidar, thermal, multispectral, bathymetry, site models. He talked about how the use of ground control points provide a consistent location since the images each have a set of coordinates.
Joe Borgione and Michael Duncan – Greater Salt Lake Municipal Services District (MSD)
Joe and Michael showed their deployment of the address data management solution for the MSD. The basic process for this deployment is to add new streets, split existing street attributes, and drop address points.
