2. Registration fee is $20.00 non-refundable.

3. Registration is “cash only” and will be held on the day of derby beginning at 5:00 AM through

10:00 AM. Registration will be located in the breezeway area of the main building at Reef Point Marina.

4. Fishing Area is defined as Racine Harbor, Reef Point Marina south of the Root River channel. Fishing in the Root River or small boat basin/ramp south of the marina is prohibited. DUE TO COVID CONCERNS AND FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR FELLOW FISHERMEN: PLEASE OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES.

5. Open Water fishing is Prohibited as this is an ice fishing contest.  Anyone seen open water fishing will be disqualified, thus rendering them ineligible for weigh-in and his / her entry fee will not be refunded.

6. Ice Shacks/Shelters are allowed; however, contestants are NOT permitted to fish in them.

7. Fishing by contestants on the day of derby (12:01 AM to 6:45 AM) or prior to their registration is prohibited. Contestants may drill holes and set up fishing equipment prior to 6:45 AM.  NOTE: To assure no angler moves in on “someone’s spot,” all anglers should be present with their equipment at the time of marking their spot.  Any one angler should not expect to hold a large area for any group if their group members are not present.

8. Derby officials will signal the start (6:45 AM) and end (1:15 PM) of derby via a loud audible sound.

9. The weigh-in station located in the marina breezeway will open at 6:45 AM and will close at 1:15 PM. Contestants MUST enter the breezeway/weigh-in line by 1:15 PM to register eligible fish and have their entry ticket present prior to weighing in. Contestants not in the breezeway or weigh-in line by 1:15 PM will not have their fish weighed. All fish must be alive at time of weigh-in. We encourage contestants to weigh in fish ASAP. Any dead or frozen fish will not be an eligible derby fish.

10. Each contestant will be issued three derby flags that must be displayed next to each hole being fished which are readily visible to other derby contestants at all times. NOTE: Any fish that is caught through a hole without a derby flag displayed will be considered a NON-DERBY FISH and will not be eligible for weigh-in.

11. Each fish registered into the derby must be caught and registered by the contestant who caught that fish. You catch it, you weigh it. NOTE: It is NOT acceptable to have someone else register a fish on your behalf.

12. Largest fish will first be determined in this order: by weight, length, then time of weigh-in. In case of a tie by weight and length, the first fish registered will be awarded the prize.

13. 75% of Derby Registration Fees will be awarded in the form of cash prizes. The remaining 25% will go Salmon Unlimited WI to cover derby expenses and improving the fishery.  Eligible species are Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Northern Pike.  The derby will pay out 15 total places for any eligible species based on weight.  If 15 fish are not weighed in at the conclusion of derby fishing hours, the 75% payback will be divided appropriately among the amount of fish places that were occupied.

14. At the discretion of Derby Officials, the prize list may be reconfigured as seen fit.

15. All Wisconsin DNR Fishing Regulations will apply. Any contestant who receives a citation will be disqualified from the derby and his or her entry fee will not be refunded.

16. We require all contestants to remove all debris and garbage generated as a result of the derby. Let’s police each other in this matter.

17. Derby officials will be the final arbiter of any dispute.

18. Entrants must agree to the waiver clause as seen below when registering  for the 2021 Salmon Unlimited “Get Out N Fish” Ice Derby.  Below is the actual waiver clause as seen on the registration form. Each participant is required to sign off on the waiver.
