About our School

Lincoln Elementary School

Lincoln School is a preK-6 elementary school located in the heart of Salinas, California, just blocks away from the historic downtown district.   The school was closed in 2005 due to the financial hardships of the school district and declining enrollment.  In 2007 superintendent Dr. Donna Alonzo Vaughan unveiled her vision of Lincoln's rebirth as a "growing school".  Through the hard work of dedicated administrators, teachers and staff, it was reopened for the 2008-2009 school year as a primary Neighborhood/Choice school, starting with kindergarten and first grades, and just 56 students.
