A Wonderful Success!
Strollers enjoyed a beautiful day for the Salem Garden Club Seaside Garden Stroll held on Saturday, July 11, 2015! Ticket holders viewed 15 splendid garden spaces all unique and inviting! From traditional to whimsical, tiny deck spaces to sprawling, Asian influenced to sea inspired this year's stroll had something for everybody. Strollers lingered to appreciate the work of en plein air artists, musicians, and even salsa dancers in many of the gardens in addition to the lovely plantings. Complimentary refreshments were served along the way. In addition strollers were treated to 7 "peek" gardens which could be viewed from the sidewalk and enhanced their leisurely stroll along the route.
Many thanks to all who participated in this year's stroll... garden owners, musicians, artists, dancers, the many volunteers who acted as greeters, all those who helped to get the word out about the Stroll (including the Salem Evening News for a wonderful article on July 9th and Councilor Josh Turiel for including news of the Stroll in his update emails), the City of Salem for allowing use of the Forest River Park for ticket sales and parking, and especially all those who supported this fund raising event by buying a ticket!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
