I am broadly interested in the study of the genetic basis of adaptation and speciation. Particularly, I focus my research on understanding how speciation occurs in the face of gene flow in recent natural radiations. Additionally, I investigate what is the evolutionary role of hybridization in nature.

To answer these questions, I use the Heliconius butterflies as biological model and typically apply population genetics, and more recently, population genomics tools.
