Buddhist Tattoos - Tattooing in Buddhism

Tattooing is not a common phenomena in th Buddhist Tradition

But it is to be encountered - especially common in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Japan

In Thailand some of the Bhikkus (Monks/Sangha) practise the tattooing of sak yant - sacred Buddhist Yantras with prayers in Pali Sanskrit using Khmer Lettering (called "Khorm")
