St Mary’s has been part of the Southgate community since 1958 and continues to offer facilities to local groups and societies, in addition to church services and activities for children, young people, families and older people.

In recent years it has become clear that some major building work is necessary, including replacement of the roof covering and windows, together with upgrading the heating and electrical systems. This also offers an opportunity to improve our premises by providing a lounge area, a lift, relocating our Parish Office and altering the main entrance opposite the shopping parade.

 

Work on Phase 1 of this project is now complete. The roofs and windows have been replaced and a new frontage has been created. 

Phase 1A is next on our list and involves the creation of a lift to the upper floor. This is expected to happen in early 2019.

Phase 2, which will transform the rest of the inside of the building, will follow as funds become available.
