Welcome to St Mary's

Welcome to the online home of St Mary’s Southgate, Crawley.

St Mary’s is a lively, Bible-based and friendly Church of England Church where all are welcome. We want to grow in our knowledge of Jesus Christ as Saviour and friend, and also to encourage on their journey those who aren’t yet sure what they believe. We actively encourage the participation of all ages in church life, and have a good number of children and young people connected to the church.
As well as Sunday services,  many other things happen during the week at St Mary's including our Toddler Group (Waddlers), our Coffee Shop (The Gate), Messy Church, House Groups, groups for older people, and our Children's Work on a Friday evening as well as one off events. We also run the Alpha course at least once a year for those who would like to find out more about the Christian faith. For any information about these groups or what is happening at St Mary's, please check out the menu above, or visit us in person - we'd love to see you!

Church re-opens; Online services contine.

Government rules now allow churches to open for services if they are able to do do safely. However, we are not allowed to sing, and we are aware that a number of our members will still not be able to attend.

So our 'main' Sunday service for July and August will continue to be the Online service which many of us watch together at 10.30 am and then share in a time of fellowship afterwards via Zoom. Of course the service can also be watched at other times. Click the link on this page to watch this service.

In addition, we will now have a service in Church each Sunday at 3.00 p.m. This will be a short service of Evening Prayer, with Bible Readings, Prayers and a Reflection. Two metre social distancing will be in place, and sanitiser will be available. This service will start on 12 July and run through July and August. Do join us if you can.

We are doing what we can to keep in touch with everyone. Please consult this page or our Facebook page regularly to keep up to date.

Our Family Matters newsletter can be downloaded by using the link on the left. You can also receive this to your email inbox by letting the parish office know you would like it.

If you need help with shopping or have other concerns please ring the Parish Office on 547261 and we'll do what we can to help.
