St. Helena Church is a Tithing & Evangelizing Parish

Mission Statement

We, the Parish of St. Helena, are rooted in Jesus Christ and nourished by Eucharist.

We are aware of our present diversity and the changes that enrich us. We strive with all that God has given us to live and to share the Gospel of love by creating a welcoming and united community. We seek to integrate actively people of all ages, races, and cultures into every area of life.

Opening Prayer: Prayer for Evangelization

Loving God, You called us each by name and gave your only Son to redeem us in your faithfulness. You sent the Holy Spirit to complete the mission of Jesus among us. Open our hearts to Jesus. Give us the courage to speak his name to those who are close to us and the generosity to share his love with those who are far away. We pray that every person throughout the world be invited to know and love Jesus as Savior and Redeemer. May they come to know his all-surpassing love! May that love transform every element of our society! We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen!

Closing Prayer:  Prayer of an Evangelizer

Lord God, who cares about each and every one of us in the world, I invite you to live in me today, to move in my actions and speak in my words. Through Jesus your Word made flesh, you allow me once again the privilege and the power of making real your dream that all may be one and find life in your name.  Touch me with your Spirit today so I may have your life in my life, your Word in my mouth, and courage to move in your world, loving your people as my people.  Enfold me in your grace to protect me from my fears, my pride, and my desire to control others. Make me a blessing, not a burden, to those I meet today, and a faithful witness to your Good News. Here I am; Lord, send me!  We ask this in your name. Amen.
