Sailfish Fleet's and Racing

Sailfish take part in racing at several clubs where cruiser races are organised. At some clubs there are enough Sailfish to compete against each other but if you are the only Sailfish owner in your area, come and meet other sailfish at any of the clubs below and see what they do.

CLUBS WITH ACTIVE SAILFISH FLEETS

There may be other clubs with Sailfish owners in them

Rutland Sailing Club - Has a number of Sailfish 18's with enthusiastic owners, has opportunities for racing and now hosts what has become a very popular Sailfish meeting each year.

Cam Sailing Club - Situated on the River Cam about four miles from Cambridge. There are several Sailfish 18's based at the club and three races during the season which Sailfish can take part.

Carsington Water Racing at Carsington, Derbyshire comprises a morning series race and after lunch two races sailed back to back
There is a short Frostbite series and three other series.  Each series has prizes for winners and runners up.

Handicaps
All racing is to handicaps. Carsington operates a maximum boat length of 22 feet. Main competition is against Parker 21, Europa, Teliga, Hunter Formula and dayboats: Hawks and Squibs. Handicaps are generally to Portsmouth Yardstick - some clubs operate their own system.
