Hello! Welcome to my web page.

I am currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Wabash College.

I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee  in 2017. And, I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Calcutta, India.

My primary research interests are in International Finance and Trade, Open Economy Macroeconomics and Financial Inclusion. A majority of my time is devoted to research and teaching. As a teacher, I get to introduce new and applicable concepts to students that change and shape the way they think. My goal is to make Economics more interesting for my students so that they can achieve higher goals in life. I love teaching and it enhances my ability to present ideas clearly to a large set of individuals with diverse background. As a researcher, I get to expand my knowledge in several ways. It helps foster critical thinking and enhance applicable skills through the use of real-world data and various other techniques. 

I was a volunteer at the Make a Difference – Wisconsin, where I have taught Personal Finance to high school students. Apart from teaching at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, I have taught Economics and Statistics courses at University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and have also been part of the Upward Bound Program at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

In my spare time, I love to cook different kinds of food and I love to eat. I also like to explore new places and meet new people. I have visited several cities in the U.S., (my goal is to visit all the states and get fridge magnets from each). I am also very interested in gardening. Finally, I really like to paint and in fact, have a Diploma Degree in Painting and used to do it a lot but I haven’t devoted time to it since I graduated from college. But picked it up again since Summer 2020, and I am loving it.
