What is sage?

Sage is Free and open source computer algebra system (CAS) with potential similar to commercial software like Mathematica, Maple, MatLab and Magma. It is build on top of many existing open-source packages such as NumPy, SciPy, MatPlotLib, Sympy, Maxima, GAP, R and many more. Sage uses Python as its primary language which is simple and a powerful language becoming immensely popular among scientific community. It is a great pedagogical tool which can also be used heavily at research level.

Aim of the Workshop

The main aim of this workshop is to give basic introduction  and hand on to the Sagemath software and demonstrate  its numerical and symbolic capabilities to solve mathematical problems. Many applications in calculus, linear algebra, number theory and  optimizations will also be covered.
