What is sage?
Maple, MatLab and
Magma. It is build
top of many existing open-source packages such as NumPy, SciPy, MatPlotLib, Sympy,
Maxima, GAP, R and
uses Python as its primary language which is simple and a powerful
language becoming immensely popular among scientific community. It is a great
pedagogical tool which can also be used
heavily at research level.
Aim of the Workshop
The main aim of this workshop is to give basic introduction and hand on to the Sagemath software and demonstrate its numerical and symbolic capabilities to solve mathematical problems. Many applications in calculus, linear algebra, number theory and optimizations will also be covered.
