Dear Saddle Up Participants,

October 7th is expected to be a beautiful fall day – a great day for riding, hiking, and raising money toward the fight against breast cancer. Since the ride is on Sunday this year, we will be having a Cowboy Church service at 8:00am. Ride check-in will begin after the service, at 8:30am. Coffee and those wonderful Panera Bread ribbon shaped bagels will be available for breakfast.

PLEASE REMEMBER to bring the following items to the check-in table in the clubhouse:

  • Copy of current negative Coggins
  • Annual Three Rivers trail tag
    OR $5.00 to purchase a Three Rivers day pass

Other things you might want bring along:

  • A park map is attached for you to print if you would like to have a copy while on the trails
  • A beverage of your choice (lunch will be provided)
  • A portable chair (to sit comfortably during the auction)
  • Checkbook or cash to pay for auction items
  • Bucket of water and hay for your horse
    (we’ll provide apples for the horses)

We are very grateful for use of the Horseman Ranch facilities again this year, and so we hope everyone will follow the rules to ensure the health of their herd:

  • Do not allow your horse to come into contact with the ranch herd
  • Use your own buckets – water is available on the north side of the barn
  • Clean up after your horse before you leave
  • Leave your dogs home for the day

New this year… we will have horse sitters to watch the horses while you’re eating and bidding on auction items. We’ll provide you with an information card at check-in. Simply slide it under your wiper, and if your horse gets anxious, hungry or thirsty, our horse sitters will come let you know.

Prize drawing tickets will be awarded to registered participants – one ticket for every $100 raised. For online donations, totals will be recorded at 5:00am on October 7th. Donation checks handed in at the ride before 11:00am will also be included. We were very fortunate this year to have some super great sponsors provide some really great prizes.

It’s exactly one week until we saddle up. Registrations and donations are way down this year and we are far from reaching our goal. I know a lot can be accomplished in a very short time, so I hope you will take these last few days to reach out to your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers, and ask for their support in this worthwhile cause. We’ll be accepting same-day registrations, so please invite others to come and ride or bid at the auction.
