Wonderful day to shoot FT or fly a Kite !! Yes indeed the IONE facility nearly never lets us down in creating a challenging match due to it's shifty winds when they blow 

Our morning started early at @ 7:10 am getting on site, loading truck with gear from our on-site storage and getting concrete block trailer all hooked up.

The week prior the daily winds had been forecast to ebb by the weekend having sunday morning calm and clear and it appeared to be so as we set up. As such today's set was bias towards using all of the 55 yard limits having IIRC 4-5 targets out in the 50-55 yard distances. Several small stinkers too from 10 to 15 yards keeping the best in out ranks on there toes !! We end up with 15 lanes x 2 targets per having offhand set on lane 8 containing 3 bell targets for a course score possible 62 points.

Now the crew starts rolling in a bit past 8am about as we're winding down on course set up. Practice targets get out on the field, operation of match targets checked and we're ready to play some FT !! Liability waver & score cards start getting filled out showing we're very likely to have a great showing this sunday. By @ 9am we have no less than 21 able & willing hooligans ready to challenge the steel  We open practice a tad after 8:30 and shut it down @9:20 having the practice targets removed from field of play there after. Shooters meeting and safety issues get addressed to all present.

We speak of the Nevada GP that occurred a couple weeks earlier and on how well the SVFTC was represented 

* Mark W in WFTF class won the high match score of the weekend and his class. Scott S took 1st in Hunter Pistol & 3rd in Hunter PCP, Sam R took a 4th in Hunter PCP and a 3rd in Hunter Pistol, Cameron K a second in WFTF Piston.

As it would turn out we got no further than about 3 lanes in when the winds took charge come straight on and switching left/right creating havoc for everyone ! as this type wind is nearly impossible to dope for being ever shifting keeping a shooter guessing and frustrated. As the morning progressed the winds increased in strength !!

To my surprise all just took it in stride knowing everyone else was dealing with it, so why get verbal just manning up and doing ones best!!

Post match we get some lunch provided by out meal man Sam R who provided "Samwiches" and some side fix-ens drinks etc .... Darren T had a jug of iced tea for refreshments.

We finally get after some fresh paint on targets as it's been 3 matches worth of abuse since last visual refresh. Everything gets put away till next month when we do it again on July 26th for the club next fun match event.
