10-2017-October

The Sacramento Valley FTC October match is in the books. We had a gorgeous fall day with a chilly early morning warming to a beautiful 75 degree day with mild winds and lots of sunshine. This was our last match before the Phoenix Nationals in two weeks, so we set a challenging course with 10 targets 45yds and over, only 3 or so shots within the typical 23-32 yard zero range, and lots of tiny KZ'z of 3/8 to ¾ of an inch. Nine of our eighteen shooters are headed for the Nats and based upon the scores they shot they look ready. Below are the scores of the 62 shot match which included 6 forced position shots.

After the match we gathered in the clubhouse for a light lunch and discussion of the the dumb things we do before and during a match. It looked like everyone had a great time ... well except maybe TimK who had the luck of showing up to his very first match with a break barrel and shooting the most difficult course we set all year. He was still smiling at lunch so that was a good sign.

Our last match of the season will be next month at our Ione location. Photos are courtesy of JackC who always does a great job on the camera.

As always a big thanks to everyone who helped with set up and tear down, your assistance is much appreciated.
