Saber SOLTANI (S' 2008-M' 2012-SM' 2017) IEEE received his PhD degree at 2016 from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
From 2009 to 2012, he worked as a senior researcher and lecturer at Urmia University, Iran. His post-doctoral research experience includes Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) (2016), University of Massachusetts Boston/Lowell (2017-2018).
Dr. Soltani is currently a Research Fellow in the Computational Electromagnetics and Antennas Research Lab (CEARL) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include MIMO antenna design and optimization, high impedance surface design (HIS), transmission line modelling (TLM), RF device design and their application for wireless communication, and biomedical applications.
Dr. Soltani is a Senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He was the recipient of the CST university publication Award 2015, HKUST Overseas Research Award (ORA) to visit University of Arizona in 2016, and honorable mention paper awards in IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation/USNC- URSI National Radio Science meeting (IEEE APS/URSI) in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Saber SOLTANI (M' 2012 - SM' 2017) IEEE received his PhD degree in 2016 from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), worked with Prof. Ross Murch. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow in University of Massachusetts Boston working with Prof. KC Kerby-Patel.
He was a PhD visiting student in University of Arizona from May-August 2016 and a visiting Post Doc at National University of Singapore in May 2017 (one month) and Post-Doctoral Fellow with HKUST from 2016-2017.
He is the author or coauthor of several refereed journal articles and conference papers and a U.S. Patent. His research interests include MIMO antenna design and optimization, high impedance surface design (HIS), transmission line modelling (TLM), 3D printing, RF device design and their application for wireless communication, biomedical engineering, and THz applications.
Mr. Soltani was the recipient of 2013-2016 Hong Kong Postgraduate Scholarship, 2014-2017 HKUST Research Travel Grant to attend in IEEE APS/URSI conferences, Best(1st) paper award in 16th IEEE (HK) AP/MTT 2015 (Co-author), the CST university publication Award 2015, Overseas Research Award (ORA) to visit University of Arizona 2016, HKTIIT Post-Graduate Excellence Scholarship Award 2015-16, and 3-years Honorable Mention paper awards in IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation/USNC-URSI National Radio Science meeting (IEEE APS/URSI) 2015(co-author), 2016, 2017(co-author) and 2022.
