The historic (and haunted) Landon House in Urbana, Maryland is roughly 35 minutes south of Gettysburg.  This 12,000 square foot mansion on a six-acre estate
served as both Confederate and Union Headquarters immediately before the Battle of Antietam.  The Battle of Antietam on September 17, 1862 was a precursor to the Battle of Antietam in terms of its horror and carnage.  It remains the bloodiest single day in American history, with over 23,000 dead, wounded or missing in a six-hour period.

Landon House was built in 1754 in Virginia where it was a silk mill for 80 years.  It was dismantled and moved to Urbana, Maryland in 1840 where it became a girls school and then the Landon Military Academy.  It is famous for being the site of legendary Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart's Sabers and Roses Ball on September 8, 1862, immediately before the Battle of Antietam.

The Landon House is available for private ghost investigations and ghost tours by appointment only.  We work with numerous tour companies in Gettysburg who can arrange bus transportation to Landon House for you.
