This study sort to analyze the linguistic and the extra-linguistic features of the advertising discourse .The major research method opted for was the qualitative survey where the questioner used in soliciting information. The Critical Discourse Analysis was the dominant theoretical framework adopted. This approach emphasizes the analysis of power relations in discourse community. The C.D.A. managed to bring to the fore the components of inter-textuality, mood element, ideological aspect inherent in advertising discourse. Data gathered from the research was analyzed using to a larger extent narratives. The approach qualitative, holistic in approach favours the capturing of the exact words rather turning the findings to wholly statistically form which does not reveal the feelings and some of the unique findings inherent in explanations. The other findings were analysed using tables, graphical illustrations presented in the form of graphs, pie charts, and ven diagrams. The statistical element cannot wholly be ignored for they bring out the exact statistical figures obtained in terms of the sample used.

ZNB
ZNB
ZNB was the pioneer radio station in what is now Botswana. It was on the air from around 1936 until the country gained its independence. It relayed news broadcasts from the SABC in South Africa, and played records for the rest of the transmission. The station's location was unique in that Mafeking, which administered Bechuanaland, was located in neighbouring South Africa.

Television News: The South African Post-apartheid Experience: Continuity and Change in the SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation)
Television News. The South African post-apartheid experience, offers new and original material in exploring the role of broadcasting in transition. It looks into the SABC and its news coverage in the ten years from Nelson Mandela?s inauguration in 1994. It does so by means of qualitative and quantitative analysis of TV news output, backed up by an extensive programme of newsroom observation and interviewing of key executives and professionals involved with the SABC, speaking to debates about nationhood, media and politics in South Africa. In countries in transition, where processes of nation building are considered vital, the demands for uncritical journalism may be strong. The analysed news coverage, and excerpts from the interviews reveal that a serious reassertion of control over the public service broadcaster took place in South Africa towards the end of the first decade of democracy. An increased readiness is found in the SABC and its news stories to confound the party with the nation and the party leader with the national leader. This development is described as a worrying tendency with a clear impact on the governing ethos and daily journalistic routines of the SABC news.
