This is the collaborative space of Rural Web's Learning Circle on ICT for Development (ICT4D).

Aim: ICT4D refers to the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the fields of socioeconomic development, international development and human rights. ICT has an accellerating effect on development and the growth of a digital divide has been a concern since the dawn of the internet. Hence the emergence of the ICT4D sector. ICT4D can refer to a lot of different types of projects and the sector is presently under fire because a lot of ICT4D projects have been perceived to fail. This learning circle will reflect on the history and future of ICT4D and how ICT can actually help in achieving development.

Note: We are still learning about this topic ourselves, so what you're joining is a MOOC-type co-learning process. No fixed learning method is available yet, so we are developing the curricula along the way. We create learning materials from what we learn, so that future learners can benefit from our efforts.
