Work experience 2001 till present Freelance Russian English interpreter
NHS Medical (Sheffield South-East PCT registered, fully assessed and cleared interpreter) I interpret in hospitals, GP's surgeries, social security offices, job agencies, home visits, and psychiatric wards covering mostly Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield and Rotherham.
Home Office (Central Interpreters Unit Croydon, registered fully assessed and cleared Interpreter) I interpret at police stations, screening interviews, prisons, sometimes outside the premises when the arrests are made, airports and sea ports, casework directorate interviews, asylum interviews etc. |
Police (South Yorkshire Police registered, fully assessed and cleared Russian English translator). I have interpreted for the North, South, and West Yorkshire police forces on a large number of assignments covering a wide range including serious crimes. I have also worked with the Russian Militia in Izhevsk (Russia). |
HM Courts I have given Russian translation at the following Magistrate and Crown Courts Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Harrogate, Wakefield, Lincoln, Chesterfield, Huddersfield, Nottingham, Scunthorpe and Doncaster covering a wide variety of cases.
HM Prisons As well as a variety of prisons I have worked with YOI and Probation services.
Sports: Liaising with Boston Bruins NHL European Scout 2004; I assisted on a few projects involving Spartak Ice-Hockey Club (Russia St .Petersburg 2004); Linguistic assistance with international Karate camp (Russia Naberezhnye Tchelny 1998); European Biathlon championships in (Russia Izhevsk 1999).
Exhibitions I have worked at a trade exhibition for dental equipment Supplies plus Farnborough Air show. I have also translated for a range of Gun Trade exhibitors from the UK exhibiting in Moscow.
Commercial My customers range from heavy industry such as steelworks, car manufacturers, aviation, oil and gas, ship and yacht building. I have also worked with car dealers and aftermarket teams as well as private hospitals, and a range of solicitors.

2000 till 2004 Ant marketing International department: collecting data from European companies using various types of interpreting (sight and consecutive interpreting) and translations.
1997-1999 Udmurt State University Russia, Department of Modern Languages Teacher/lecturer (English language and literature). I designed and adapted a specific English Language assessment program for the Faculty of Sports, which is still in use by the teachers of this Faculty. I also lectured at the Biology and Chemistry Faculty and the Faculty of Law.
