Hoyle's Rules of Dragon Poker

The most complicated game on this, or any other, world.

If you've found this page, you're probably a fan of Robert Asprin's Myth Adventures series. So am I.

I first started reading the series some time around 2005 or 2006 and, like others before me, I became intrigued by the game Dragon Poker. I think I must have ran straight to my computer after finishing Little Myth Marker and scoured the internet looking for the full set of rules. I came across a website that explained the rules more coherently and filled in one of the major blanks (read: The History of Dragon Poker and Acknowledgments for more details) and I was able to start playing, but it always bugged me that no one had ever tried (or at least post publicly) a fuller set of of conditional modifiers.

I toyed for years with the idea of completing the game, but it wasn't until last summer that I made a real effort to that effect. The following pages are, more or less, copied and pasted from the resulting manual I created from the project.

I recommend that if you read the site's pages in order as this is best for understanding what really is a pretty confusing game. On the Downloads page, you'll will also find the ebook version of the manual.

In any case, I hope you enjoy this game as much as I have.
