Sevens is a very unique game. The extra space creates a much quicker and open game compared to 15 a side rugby. As a result there are a number of different tactics that can be used that you wouldn't find in the 15 a side game. In this section I've highlighted a few different tactics you should consider using when playing sevens. The key to sevens rugby is about retaining possession so the first few I've listed are around keeping possession from a kick off and in open play.

Kick offs - how to get the ball back from the kick off in sevens.

Defense - how to stop the opposition breaking your line in the more expansive sevens pitch.

Keeping the ball - how to keep possesion of the ball

The lineout - how to set the line and win the ball

The scrum - how to set the scrum and keep the ball
