Breed:  Miniature Poodle
Age:  5 years
Sex:  Male
My name is Emmet, and I am a 5-year-old mini poodle who is apricot in color and weigh 7.5 pounds.  I was picked up by the dog cops with my cohort, Emma.  We were then tossed in the doggy slammer.  The shelter contacted R.u.F.F. Rescue and said these two pretty babies need your help.  I love to snuggle and be with my people.  Nice dogs are fun, and I really want a lap and someone to love me.  I have great potty skills and am inquisitive about stuff.  I want to find my forever family.  Neutered, dental done, heartworm negative and on prevention, current on vaccinations and microchip.  Suggested adoption donation is $350-$450.

Emma is a 5-year-old miniature poodle, apricot in color.  I was found with my cohort, Emmet, dumped in the middle of nowhere.  The shelter suspects a backyard breeder.  We were horribly matted and needed to be shaved.  We just love to snuggle!  I'm in a loving foster home with two resident dogs and a little boy child.  I like nice dogs and nice kids.  But I really love to snuggle, go on walks in nice weather, and give kisses.  My foster mom says I'm perfect.  I potty outside, I'm crate trained, and I like to travel.  Spayed, dental done, heartworm negative and on prevention, current on vaccinations, and microchip.  Suggested adoption donation is $350-$450.

As the end of 2016 is quickly approaching...

As the end of 2016 is quickly approaching, I reflect on all our rescue dogs we have saved and found 'furever' homes. RuFF Rescue is totally comprised of volunteers... no paid staff.  All our rescue dogs are placed into foster homes to retrain or rehab until their 'furever' family adopts.  These volunteers have resident dogs, families, jobs, and yet... they find the time and energy to volunteer.  I thank all of my fosters and volunteers for their unconditional love, energy, and dedication to this endeavor.

I also reflect on the comments from many inquiries from individuals who compliment our efforts and dedication.  As well as those comments from individuals that include: ... "will you take $100 for this dog?" ... "your adoption fees are too high" ... "your adoption fee is too high for this age of a dog" ... It continues, and some comments I won't repeat.

So, I ask anyone who has thought of trying to negotiate the adoption donation, please contact your local vet and ask the cost of spay, neuter, heartworm test and prevention, vaccinations, rabies, microchip, flea & tick prevention.  Then ask if they will do these services for less as the dog is 8 or 9 years old ... then add in beds, blankets, toys, treats, collars, leashes, harnesses, dishes.

Animal rescue is not a money-making adventure.  Animal rescue is not for profit, and a reputable rescue is fortunate to have awesome dedicated volunteers to foster, retrain and take the time to invest in their foster dog.

We saved 3 heartworm positive dogs in 2016, numerous dogs that came in with medical issues, in addition to all other dogs that have entered into rescue.  The heartworm treatment alone was over $800 per dog; this is not including our regular vet expenses.  RuFF Rescue spends thousands of dollars every year to save our rescue dogs.  All dollars support the efforts of dog rescue... and a few feral cats.  RuFF Rescue survives on donations and fundraisers.

If you would like to donate to RuFF Rescue, you may do so via PayPal or mail to: RuFF Rescue, RR 1 BX 62AA, Adams, NE 68301.  Thank you.
