My name is Robbin E. Watts

I have had the honor of working in professional theater for the last 27 years as a charge scenic artist, properties artisan and a designer.  As you will see if you click on the links to my sample portfolios on the following pages; the paint styles I have become proficient in range from blackline cartooning to faux finished realism. Besides painting sets, my charge artist responsibilities included: overseeing assistant Scenic Artists and volunteers, ordering paint and materials, scheduling, set dressing, finish carpentry, rental of props and scenery, as well as a voice in the development of designs during pre-production.

I have worked in the position of props mistress; responsible for working with the director and designer in planning and acquisition of props and set dressings. As a properties artisan, my abilities subsume a variety of specialized arts including: welding, carpentry, upholstery, sculpture, foam carving, mask-making, mold making, tiling, puppet construction, and floral displays.

As a designer, I have had the opportunity to create sets for Musicals, Children’s shows, New Playworks, and outdoor Shakespeare.  I have designed multiple shows for Birmingham Children’s TheaterOrlando Shakespeare Theater, and Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth, as well as freelance designing for Birmingham Festival TheaterHarrison School for the Performing Arts and Garden Variety Shakespeare.

The most valuable part of my background is a strong work ethic and capital reputation as an individual who meets deadlines, ensures the highest quality standards of her work, and goes the extra mile to provide every detail required to make a production a success. If you need to contact me:
