The anomaly correlation coefficients are computed for each model for Rainfall and Temperature
The dots depict significant correlations at the 5% significance level as estimated by a Student t-test.
This is carried out for the RCM simulations driven at the boundaries by ERAINTERIM.
The reference observations for the impact variables are based on CRUTS2.1 (50km) and ERAINTERIM (100km) to allow cross-comparison.
For CRUTS2.1 the time period spans 1990-2002 and for ERAINTERIM 1990-2007.
Be carrefull, for CRUTS2.1 when no values were available, the missing values are replaced by the climatology (61-90)!
Thus this correlation must be here interpreted with caution!
Furthermore, the 90s are characterized by a collapse of the observation network over Africa, and the sample is small (only 12-17 years).
