Northern Arizona Peace Corps Volunteers & Friends:

Happy New Year!

You are invited to join the Northern Arizona Peace Corps Volunteers for the annual RPCV and Friends camping trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

The dates are June 22 - 24, 2018. Camping reservations can be made for the North Rim Campground at: This campground fills up quickly. Folks can also make reservations at the North Rim Lodge.

We will pick up trash on our Peace Corps segment on Highway 67 on Saturday morning, June 22. Enjoy the cool weather of the North Rim along with hiking and mountain biking.

On Saturday, June 23 at 9:30 am we will pick up trash on our Northern Arizona Peace Corps RPCV ADOT adopted section of AZ 67 between Mile Posts 607- 609.  This section of highway is just north of the Entrance Station of the Grand Canyon National Park North Rim and south of Jacob Lake.  We will meet at Mile Post 607.  Bring work gloves, closed toe shoes, hat and water. Beautiful one size fits all reflective vests and trash bags will be provided.   Note that youth under the age of 12 years can not help with the trash pick up due to ADOT restrictions.
Dates: Friday, June 22  to Sunday, June 24 (Or whenever you can make it!)  Come early and stay late.
  • Grand Canyon National Park North Rim Campground (Requires Reservation) @ $18 per night or $9 per night with Senior Card.  (Make reservations ASAP!)
  • USFS De Motte Campground ($18 per night first vehicle). 
  • Throw down camping in Kaibab National Forest (Free).  
  • Grand Canyon National Park North Rim
  • Kaibab Lodge
Pat and Jim will be camping in Site #8 at GCNP North Rim Campground on nights of June 22 thru June 24.

If you are having trouble booking campgrounds or lodges:
Keep checking Grand Canyon North Rim Campground and lodge for cancellations.  Also check USFS Jacob Lake Campground. Throw-down camping is allowed on the Kaibab National Forest.
