About
I am a Lecturer in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Leicester. My research lies at the intersection of probability theory, statistical modelling and data science.
My work in probability focuses on log-correlated Gaussian fields, branching random walks, interacting particle systems and percolation. My statistical research includes Bayesian forecasting, categorical time-series models, election forecasting and sports analytics.
Before joining the University of Leicester, I was a Lecturer at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Essex. Earlier, I was an Assistant Professor of Decision Sciences at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).
I received my PhD in Statistics at the University of Chicago, where my doctoral research examined extreme values of log-correlated Gaussian fields. Before that, I completed my undergraduate and master’s studies at the Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata.
Log-correlated Gaussian fields, branching random walks, interacting particle systems, frog and rumour models, and percolation.
Bayesian methods, categorical time series, forecasting from partial information, election modelling and spatio-temporal statistics.
Real-time forecasting in sports, sports betting, football analytics, player evaluation and statistical decision-making.
