Submarine Veterans Memorial

Welcome to the Roy Holland Gallemore Submarine Veterans Memorial Website

On March 7, 2015, at Summerlin Academy in Bartow, Florida, the local community, elected officials, and the Sea Poacher Base gathered for the dedication of the Submarine Memorial. This memorial honors all those who were lost while on patrol, serving as a lasting tribute to their sacrifice.

Visiting the Memorial: It is located at Summerlin Academy, Bartow, FL. It is a public High School, and open during regular school hours. Please check in! There is a convenient outdoor window to let the staff know you are visiting the memorial.  Address: 1500 S Jackson Ave, Bartow, FL 33830

Sail Portion Formed Concrete Poured over the weekend of 2014 at Summerlin Academy. 

Groundbreaking occurred on Saturday, 23 March 2013 at 9:45 AM at Summerlin Academy with nearly 100 people in attendance.

The Sea Poacher Base (USSVI) operates from Summerlin Academy in Bartow, Florida and is seeking nationwide support, assistance and contributions to build the Roy Holland Gallemore Submarine Veterans Memorial on the grounds of Summerlin Academy.  Summerlin Academy is a military public school in the Polk County Public Schools system.
