Beaches - See More

Faros Beach, is just 1000m from the apartment - see review.  Faros is a sandy beach with an excellent view that as been awarded a blue flag.  The quality of the water is tested frequently and the beach front is cleaned every day. Water sports, sun bed and umbrella hire are available from April 15th to October 31st. Lifeguards are on duty with lifesaving equipment from 11:00 to 17:30 hours during the same period.
Note - over the winter months the beach accumulates a lot of seaweed, which is then cleared in April making the beach ready for full use again.

It is also possible to use the beach of the 5* Elysium Hotel which is 800m away.

Other beaches close by are:
  • Coral Bay Beach (12 minute drive (6 miles)) - the best sandy beach in western cyprus.  It is a lovely long curved stretch of golden sand that falls in between two headlands. The beach is well-equipped and has calm shallow waters all around. The bay also has some splendid little coves in the region and many a place to explore. The bay offers the chance for some outstanding diving, and is also very close to the nesting spot for the turtles of the island. 
  • Laatchi  Beach (20 miles) - This lovely beach with beautiful scenery is located close to Latchi fishing harbour, in the Polis area.
  • Lara Bay / Turtle Bay (15 miles) - on the Akamas Peninsular
  • Paphos has two Blueflag sandy beaches and watersports, including paragliding, windsurfing and jet skis are widely available on most beaches in Paphos and the surrounding areas.

There are a variety of great golf courses close by.

Founded in 1994 on the hills of Tsada, set on the grounds of 12th century monastery, in a verdant valley. Created by Donald Steel and renovated by Mackenzie + Ebert in 2006/07, it plays to a par 71 and measures 5828 meters. Situated on the outskirts of Pafos, the altitude of 550 meters above sea level ensures cool breezes during the summer months.
Secret Valley - 12 Miles
The Secret Valley Golf Course, is a highly prestigious golf course located by the renowned area of "Petra tou Romiou", the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love. It is set in a scenic valley surrounded by mature trees and beautiful natural rock formations. Consistently appearing as the preferred course amongst the island's visiting players in terms of sheer playability and enjoyment.

Aphrodite Hills - 12 Miles  
Aphrodite Hills' 18-hole standard championship golf course follows the scenic contours of the two plateaux that are divided by a central ravine. A premier Golf Academy and Pro Shop enhance your golf experience, while the Clubhouse offers delectable specialties and a breathtaking view to the golf course.


The whole of Paphos is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The 4th Century BC Tomb of the Kings are only a 5 minute walk away.

Harbour Area

The area around the harbour offers an abundance of restaurants, pavement cafes and shops.  The promenade has been recently redone.

Boat trips go from the harbour area frequently, catering for all ages and tastes, be it driving yourselves in a small motor boat, going on a glass bottom boat to see the turtles and abundance of fish, a full day or sunset cruise, or going on a high speed jet boat or party boat.

Skiing -The Troodos Mountains


Mountain Walks - The Troodos Mountains

The Troodos mountain range stretches across most of the western side of Cyprus. There are many famous mountain resorts, Byzantine monasteries and churches on mountain peaks, and nestling in its valleys and picturesque mountain villages clinging to terraced hill slopes.

There are nine churches and one monastery in Troodos that are counted among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites and several other monasteries, of which the Kykkos monastery is the richest and most famous.


Akamas National Park

The Akamas Peninsular is a national park approximately 12 miles away, containing a wonderful mix of plants and wildlife.  It is possible to take a jeep safari to explore the park fully, including the turtle nesting sites.
Within the park are Aphrodite's baths - the location where Aphrodite used to meet Adonis.
