Learning to row is possible at almost any age after childhood.  Rowing is great exercise plus you can enjoy a beautiful river, from the parkway to the inlet, at your own pace. Many of us learned to row with Navesink River Rowing (NRR) and continue to belong to this non-profit organization.  It is located in Red Bank at the river end of Maple Avenue, a block west of MBC.

NRR offers introductions to rowing at its annual Open House and on Learn to Row day.  Rowing lessons there are available in June, July, and early August for adults and for youth 14 to 18 years old.  Also, lessons can be arranged sometimes in September or even October.  See the NRR website <http://www.navesinkriverrowing.shuttlepod.org/> or contact NRR at nrrnews@gmail.com for more information.

A favorite stick figure learning to row is at <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXnKyJdA01w> - only three minutes long with lots of good reminders.

MBC offers rack space for rowing shells owned by its members and also has a recreational shell available for shared use.  Launching from the special MBC low float at the end of the west docks is nice.
