I am a PhD candidate at Harvard Business School and Harvard University. My interests are in strategy/entrepreneurship and technology/AI for economic development and social impact. My work assists small- and medium-sized business entrepreneurs to grow with technology and AI in emerging economies. It also focuses on social and environmental impact. I work with tech firms and startups including in fintech, small businesses and economic empowerment, health, poverty, gender, and the environment.
I use causal AI, field experiments, and applied theory, and have won large funding awards, including IGC and Grand Challenges amongst others, and multiple Best Paper Awards, as well as the INFORMS/MSOM Award for Responsible Research.
I received my bachelor's in statistics and economics, and master's in economics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Prior to Harvard I worked as a lead researcher with Innovations for Poverty Action.
