Testimonials

children from prep to grade 6

Its was a real pleasure having Helene Averous here. To learn the process of book making was a real eye-opener .
Loved the small intricacies that you added in your talks. Loved the way , our students were having the dialogue session with you and loved the way you readily agreed to visit the children in their classroom for a photo shoot with them.
The teachers were very happy as some of them were in the process of doing Story Writing with their students and your talks gave them more ideas.

We were privileged to welcome Helene Averous to Tanglin Trust School. She delivered engaging presentations of her books to our year 7 students. Inspired, they wrote their own children's E-books that are available in our Infant School library. Thank you dear Helene for inspiring us all and for sharing with us the magical journey of an author.

Under various literary projects in the French School of Singapore, Hélène AVEROUS, author of the books RED and YELLOW, came to explain the children the history that surrounds these albums, from birth to their publishing and the joy to have published them.

She captivated us during the presentation of the various drawing boards of a flaming red where a small ladybug travels from page to page. She also introduced us the drawing boards for the Yellow Book where we find ourselves a little endearing chick named Titi. In her company, we have traveled through the world of yellow.

Helene told us different stories about the illustrations of the two books as well as the layout of the two albums.

Thanks to Helene, we were able to dive into the wonderful world of books and discover the world of colors in different aspects.

We thank her for her kindness, patience and availability and for letting us share this beautiful experience.

The speech that can be held on the colors is fascinating and instructive for children who often had the right answers to the questions of Helene Averous on this topic. The colors have the advantage of dealing with the concrete and the abstract, the intangible and feeling, the real and the imaginary, the cultural and universal aspects. But Helene also taught them the experience of a young author to write a story, the requirements that demand the successful completion of a project while collaborating with another person (the illustrations have been made by a painter, Sylvie Coevoet) and explained also some surprising moments that must be gone through to be able to hold in one's hand one's own book, and that can now pass from hand to hand.
