2017 - Welcome to our website

The Rotary Club of Albany Creek welcomes visitors and new members.

Our meetings are held on Tuesday evenings 6pm for 6.30pm at the Albany Creek Tavern, 730 Albany Creek Road, Albany Creek.

(see map on meetings page).

We are a vibrant Club with more than 30 members.

RYDA - Rotary Youth Driver Awareness

Our first program for high school students was on 22 June 2016 at Bracken Ridge TAFE.

The Program is directed towards our young people about road safety as they approach the period in their life when they start driving a car and ride as a passenger in a car driven by one of their peers.  (See more information on the next page (About Us).

Christmas in the Creek - Jacaranda Park, Albany Creek - December 2017

Unfortunately this event was rained out this year.  We are already planning for next year. It is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening with the community.   Albany Creek Lions and Apex help us by supplying a sausage sizzle and Santa. The music is great and a good time is guaranteed.  We have great raffles prizes to be won.

Jewellery Auction Dinner

The Jewellery on the 15th November was a fantastic evening.  It was so much fun we plan to have another one.

BOOK SALE 2016 -  Our book sale was a great success on  29th - 31st July 2016 at Albany Creek State School Hall,  695 Albany Creek Road, Albany Creek.  Not only did we raise funds for our projects but we were able to donate books to many community groups including a local family who lost most of their possessions in a house fire.

District 9600  Awards

Our club did really well for awards in 2015-2016.  We won the Kerr Cup for best attendance with over 25 members and a Gold Presidential Citation for helping Rotary make a difference in the lives of people all over the world.  This award is set each year by the world president for predetermined standards in a wide variety of club activities.

We have many projects one of which is the Helping Hands project where we buy kits of prosthesis hands, make them up then deliver them to Cambodia.  We assembled 10 kits at our meeting in April 2016.

We also have annual projects where we raise money for various causes.

Our Book Sale is held yearly. It is a wonderful community event and it is successful on many levels - there are wonderful books for sale at great prices and we raise good money for our projects.

We hold a Chocolate Wheel at the Albany Creek Shopping Centre every month with the money raised again going to our projects.  We enjoy great fellowship and the community sees their Rotary Club at work.

We also help out with the parking for the Brisbane International Garden Show as well as the Festival of the Decades both held in Pine Rivers Park.  We raise good money for our project with these two activities.
