About Us

The Rotary Club of Albany Creek is an energetic club.  We support the community in many ways and provides a network of friendship for our members.  Visitors always remark at the welcome that they experience when they visit our club.  We also have fantastic and thought provoking guest speakers weekly (see Meetings and Upcoming Speakers for details).

Some of the things we do:

We run regular Sausage Sizzles at Bunnings Brendale.

We had our inaugural Mini Fete in June which was both great community fun as well as a fundraiser.

Our club is a strong supporter of Polio Plus and actively donate funds to this vital Rotary initiative to eradicate polio from the world.

Rotary Medical Aid for Children ROMAC - Our club plays a role in this project where overseas children with life threatening conditions are brought to Australia and given medical treatment at no charge to the family.

Disaster relief, our club raised $4000, which was used to provide four Shelterboxes to the Philippines.

Our members support interact clubs - Interact Clubs at Albany Creek High School and Genesis College providing students with leadership and management skills and introduce them to the concept of community serice.

Foundation Scholars - Worthy students both local and overseas are assisted to study at a university offering particular skills that will advance their careers.

Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) - RYDA Bracken Ridge

The Rotary Club of Albany Creek, in partnership with Road Safety Education is bringing it’s National Program to the north side of Brisbane.  The venue for the program will be the Bracken Ridge TAFE.

We have successfully run our first program in June 2016, and have a number of programs scheduled for the 2017 year.  Last year RYDA reached a record nationally in bringing the program to 50,000 students in the one year.

It is our intention to bring the program to 1000 – 1500 students in our first full year of operation, and double the student numbers in each of the next two following years.  This will make it one of the largest program venues in Australia.

The Rotary Youth Driver Awareness Program (RYDA) is a professionally produced one-day training program that effectively brings home to year 11 and 12 students the level of danger that they will face as new drivers and the impact that road trauma will have of their lives and those of their family and friends.
