Publications Book and Software
I am a faculty member of the Statistics@UPF group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Dept. of Economics), and director of the Barcelona School of Economics Master in Data Science Methodology. I obtained my PhD in Statistics at Rice University (Houston, USA) under Peter Müller and did a postdoc under Valen Johnson and Veera Baladandayuthapani at M.D. Anderson. I spent several years at IRB Barcelona as head of Biostatistics & Biostatistics Unit and later at the University of Warwick Statistics Dept. (UK). On my free time I love biking & outdoors. See my CV for further info
Broadly my research interests include high-dimensional inference (much in regression and more recently in graphical models and networks), including theory and methods, computational strategies, data integration, and applied statistical modeling in the Social Sciences and Biomedicine, with emphasis on the Bayesian approach. See the publications section for more details, or Google scholar for a publication list. Most of my methodology is available in R packages.
Please check out my free online book on model selection, a hands-on guide focusing on tackling high-dimensional problems with Bayesian methods and L0 criteria (please keep in mind that it's work in progress).
