The SUMO Laboratory for Cellular and Molecular Biology

Formerly known as "The SUMO-Influenza Laboratory for Cellular and Molecular Biology"

Welcome to the SUMO Laboratory for Cellular and Molecular Biology, at the University of Texas at El Paso, directed by Dr. German Rosas-Acosta. This website is intended to provide general information related to the SUMOylation system, the work we do, and the relevance and implications of our research.

This website also links with The Molecular Cell Biology YouTube Channel and The Molecular Cell Biology Podcast, both produced and maintained by Dr. Rosas-Acosta, and a few other websites related to Molecular Biology, cancer, and biomedical research in general.

Our Mission

We strive to produce worldclass science that addresses urgent human health issues while providing excellent training and mentoring in Biomedical Sciences to new generations of scientists.

Our Science

Our recent results have led us to develop what could become a new therapy to enhance the anti-tumor activity of current chemotherapeutic agents and prevent tumor resistance.

Help us succeed!!!     Donate - Give

We believe that our mission provides an important service to our local and global communities. We strive to do our best to advance biomedical science and to provide outstanding training to our students. But our efforts can be boosted significantly with your help. Be a part of our team. Your economical support will help us provide additional training opportunities to our students. Your donations will contribute toward scholarships and travel awards to be given to our brightest and most committed students. In return, the name of all of our sponsors will be acknowledged in this website. Additional ways to recognize your generous contributions are also planned for the near future and will be posted in this page.
