Please check your child's planner each night for homework assignments. Initial at the bottom of each night. 

April 24-28 is our traffic duty week.  Please sign up to help keep our students safe! Email and google doc was emailed to you.

Fitness Walks: Wednesday 2nd,
Thursday 3rd. Our class will walk in both! at 8:15 am on those days.

Upcoming Field Trips:
 Drescher Planetarium trip -April 24th. Please have your child eat a protein packed nutritious breakfast. Remember to send a sack lunch.

2nd Grade field trip to Star Eco Station has been scheduled for May 12th.  Please send in permission slips and donations ASAP.

 The students will continue reading and responding to literature independently to the book "Sideways Stories From Wayside School".
2nd Grade: Module 6-Foundations of Multiplication and Division 
Please have your child make flash cards of addition and subtraction facts to 20 and practice them daily.  Log into the Zearn site for additional math practice.


3rd Grade: Module 7- Geometry and Measurement Word Problems. All students need to be caught up on Zearn.  

Math homework for 2nd and 3rd grade is in a spiral bound book and will travel from school to home daily.  The book needs to be returned everyday!

Social Studies: 
We are continuing to discover interesting facts about Native American tribes in California and across the country.  This week the students will work in groups to learn important details about California tribes.

 Coming up:  Stormy Skies!

 We are working on our play entitled "Biomes" to perform for you. A performance date will be selected soon.  Students must have their lines and songs memorized now!

AR tests will be taken at school.  

ComputerWise Kids can be accessed at home for keyboard practice.  Information will be sent home with specific instructions to access this program.  Keyboarding is an important skill for all students.  Please encourage your child to practice at home.

ZEARN is a supplemental math program that is closely aligned to our math program.  I sent home a letter and your child's log in information. I have entered all the student names.  Here are the class codes to get started:

Homework: Independent reading is required for 15-20 minutes each night. Homework that involves reading counts toward the minutes.

Third grade students MUST have  4 new AR points for the month of April completed by April 30. Remember...every month third grade students need to earn 4 new points.

Please have your child practice keyboarding on Typing Tutor every week, at least 2 lessons a week.  
*The activation code to place Scholastic book orders online is DXPV3. Next order will be placed May 5th.
