Carol Lee

address:                          Greenfield Business Park 1, Bagillt Road, Greenfield, Holywell, CH8 7GJ

Before starting his business in 1996 Stephen Andrew Lee was a driver with 'Crosville'. His first buses were a pair of 25 seater Volkswagen / Optare Pacers. His first route was the 28 Flint to Mold service. This was operated in addition to school contracts. His first full size buses were Leyland Nationals and in December 2001 the first double decker was acquired – a Leyland Atlantean with a 76 seater East Lancashire body.

The first depot away from the owner's home in Holywell was at the Brookfield Garage in Northop. This eventually proved to be too small and the operator moved in 2007 to the current premises in Greenfield where the fleet is maintained.

A separate business trading as Leeway Bus Company has been operated in conjunction with the main business under the name of Carol Lee – the wife of Stephen. This business was allocated a separate operating licence. The buses allocated to 'Leeway' have been predominately used for school contracts. This licence was revoked following a Public Inquiry in February 2020.

A legal entity Town Lynx Limited was formed in March 2012 and this new company was given an Operators licence in April 2015. Stephen and his wife Carol are the Directors of this company.

Initially the chosen fleet livery was blue and yellow. Later a substantial number of vehicles in the fleet were given the Flintshire County Council Conexxions livery. The current preferred fleet colour is now Lime Green.

Interestingly a large number of vehicles acquired and at one time the main part of the fleet started their life in the Republic of Ireland.

In the past routes have been operated from Mold to Chester, Mold to Denbigh and Wrexham evening services to Rhos and Chirk and for a while the company operated a commercial service in competition with Arriva the T1 Greenfield to Chester .

The principal route that the firm has operated involves the 28 route from Flint to Mold.  This was extended to Wrexham some time ago and then to Greenfield. However in early 2019 the service reverted back to the original Mold to Flint journey and for most of the day only one vehicle is utilised.  Other routes run are the 6 Mold to Pantymwyn and the 40 Prestatyn Town service which also works to Rhyl and Dyserth.

A number of school contracts are also operated.

A large number of buses are stored on the premises out of use.  Some are withdrawn are being used as a source of spares but others are being stored and may see further use.
