My career path has been motivated and inspired by some of the finest artists in Musical Theatre. On numerous occasions I have worked with Gary Griffin, Director of the Broadway hit The Color Purple, Andre DeShields, Broadway Star of The Wiz and Tony Nominee for The Full Monty and Play On and recipient of The Emmy Award for the PBS production of Ain’t Misbehavin, Mercedes Ellington, granddaughter of the great Duke Ellington and star of Sophisticated Ladies and Choreographer for the Broadway production of Play On, Jennifer Holiday, Tony Award Winner and star of  the original cast of DreamGirls, Tonya Pinkins, Tony Award Winner for  Jellies Last Jam and nominee for Broadway’s Caroline or Change, Loretta Divine, renowned actress of stage, major motion pictures and television projects such as Waiting to Exhale , Boston Public, and Heather Headly, Tony Award Winning Actress for Disney’s Aida.

My work has been seen on the stages of Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C., The Hollywood Playhouse, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Tennessee Repertory Theatre, Broadway Palm, Broadway Palm West, The Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre.  Proudly my work has also been seen at The Arkansas Repertory Theatre where I was resident choreographer for 15 years.

In Chicago I was privileged to display my talents at The Royal George Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, The Marriott Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre at Oakbrook Terrace and Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. Some of my favorite shows to Direct and Choreograph include: Big The Musical, Baby, The Hot Mikado, Hello Dolly, Footloose, Gypsy, My One and Only, Cabaret, Song and Dance, Anything Goes, A Chorus Line,  Peter Pan, Damn Yankees, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Beehive to name a few.

I was honored with the 2007 Manuel Carbonell Award for Best Choreography for my production of Five Guys Named Moe. Fortunately, I was awarded The Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship for excellence in Dance Performance in 1987.  As assistant choreographer at Opryland U.S.A. ,   I performed on The General Jackson Showboat and in The Spirit of America starring Brenda Lee.

Luckily I was able to work with Opryland Productions dancing and assisting in numerous trade shows. Some of those include America’s Honda, Auto Zone, Dr. Pepper, The Miss Tennessee Pageant and The Country Music Awards with Garth Brooks.   I garnered the award for outstanding male dancer by my peers and the production team.
