Welcome to my website!

I am a Senior Lecturer in Economics specializing in applied macroeconomics, with research expertise in monetary policy, banking, household finance, and Chinese economic studies. My work combines rigorous empirical analysis with policy-relevant insights, employing advanced methodologies including structural vector autoregression (SVAR), difference-in-differences (DiD), narrative approaches, and event studies.

Prior to joining the University of Dundee, I held academic positions at the University of Wuppertal, University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and Henan University, along with visiting research fellowships at the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research (HKIMR) and the Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition (BOFIT).

My research has been published in leading field journals including the Journal of Banking & Finance, International Journal of Central Banking, Journal of International Money and Finance, Oxford Review of Economic Policy, and China Economic Review.

Two indices to measure the Chinese monetary policy stance (Sun-MP index) and the PBC's macroprudential policy actions (Klingelhöfer-Sun-MPP index) are available on this website.
