Centurians

Come and join the Centurions - a group of volunteers and supporters of Alcester Roman Museum. The Museum is lucky to have a number of volunteers and supporters who help it to remain open to the public and provide support and their time ensuring that the public have an enjoyable experience when visiting the Museum. The Centurions annual programme of events enables the volunteers and supporters to meet together once a month at Globe House (entrance off Priory Road). If you have an interest in Roman history, particularly around the Alcester area, then please consider joining us. Our latest programme is shown below (no booking necessary, just come along):

Teachers - bring your class on a rewarding school visit

Roman Alcester offers hands-on visits linked to the National Curriculum Key Stage 2. Other age groups can be accommodated by special arrangement. Children can make use of all the museum's facilities to bring Roman Britain alive. They can handle pottery and other artefacts and during the afternoon dress in Roman armour for a photo opportunityRun by retired primary school teachers the  visits have become an increasingly popular part of the museum's activities.

Your task is to discover Alcester with your friendly Roman guide Clodius

It involves searching for clues and answers in  Alcester  Roman Museum and then going out into Alcester to do a town trail.

Alcester is  a small market town with a long history!

Explore from Roman times to the present day through museum and town trail activities.

Suitable for ages 7-12, all abilities.

For the town trail allow approximately one hour plus, could be spread over a number of occasions.

The trail costs £1 per child and is worth two stamps in their passports.
