About this site

Hello, my name is Rod Sievers and this is my Web site.

I live in Carterville, Illinois with my wife, Bonnie.  Our son, Jacob, is a graduate student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.

I am a Blue Angel.

I work at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Before that, I worked in broadcasting for 25 years.  Radio and television news.  I was the 10 o'clock news anchor at WSIL-TV in Southern Illinois for seven of those years and also worked for another seven as executive producer at KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Once I started this site, I really didn't know what to do, other than create the Blue Angels pages.  So I decided to feature some of my hobbies and some of the stuff that had been residing on my computer for all these years.

I hope you enjoy the radio restoration and ham radio sections.

The Ozark Music Festival material was used mainly because there is very little mention of it on the Internet.  What you see here may represent the Web's most comprehensive account of the festival.

I plan to keep adding to this site as more material becomes available or as I come up with new ideas.

Your comments are always appreciated.
