Understanding how species and ecosystems respond to the rampant loss of biodiversity, to climate change and the spread of invasive species has become a major focus of modern ecology. Yet, most studies on global change ecology have being focused on either the importance of one or a few species or the relationship between some composite values, like species diversity and ecosystem functioning. In my research program, I seek to understand how the different drivers of global change directly and indirectly influence interspecific interactions, such as mutualisms, and the potential cascading effects on community assembly and ecosystem services.
