Brief Description of Artifact
Describe your artifact in approximately 200 words or less.

The artifact presented for this course is an action plan that we worked on in our small groups. Our territory lost one of our canneries in 2009 which left about 4000 people unemployed. The effect of the cannery closure on a number of our students was really devastating. The action plan is a call for the schools to be more ‘parent and community friendly’.

Reflection of your Learning
How does your artifact reflect your achievement of each Program Learning Outcome as related to this class? (above)

Working on this project has taught me a lot about being resourceful. I have learned that I have to look beyond our limitations and focus more towards the possibilities. Aspiring to be an agent of change being resourceful and initiative is not enough. I have to conspire with my peers at what is possible and what can have the most affect.

Professional Development
Describe how you have developed professionally as reflected by this artifact.

I have been inspired to be an agent of change. I have learned that no matter where you are in the world we all share a common issue of not having enough resources to deal with the social plight that our students face. Resourcefulness has taken on a new meaning for me thanks to this course. Resourcefulness is looking beyond what I am able to attain to being what I can change. As I continue with my teaching career I believe this can benefit me professional as I try to take my students into a technological classroom, and the changes that I am sure to encounter.
