"I took a local pinay friend to Rodman's for dinner once, and I found it ironic to treat a Filipina to something that's new and different to her in her own city. We shared the barbecue platter, and it was more than enough for the two of us. Along with the barbecued meats, the sides were all very recognizable to me but new to her. Comfort/soul food featuring greens, cornbread, mac-and-cheese, cranberry sauce, stuffing/dressing and even black-eyed peas. Although most of it was a little strange to her, she admitted that she really liked the cornbread."
"I've enjoyed my time spent hanging out with Philander Rodman. He's always been very kind and welcoming to me, and he's given me lots of very useful advice about Angeles City and the Philippines in general. As much as I like local Filipino dishes such as adobo, afritata, dinuguan and bihon, it was refreshing to hear some music by the Four Tops while dining on burgers and soul food right here in the Philippines. I highly recommend checking out Rodman's, whether you have been in Angeles City for years, days or hours." Joe C Blogo from his Wandering Blindly blog.
